General Information
These ETY|Plugs high fidelity reusable ear plugs have been designed and patented by Etymotic Research Inc., who also invented Musicians ear plugs custom hearing protection. With a pair of ETY Plugs wearers can benefit from the unique acoustic construction, which can result in an almost equal sound reduction (20dB) at all frequencies. Music and speech stay clear, just quieter, like turning down the volume.
Insertion
- Ensure ears are clean before inserting ear plugs
- With your thumb and forefinger, grasp the end cap
- For easy insertion, pull the top of your ear outward and upward
- Gently twist and push the ear plug in the ear canal until the ear tip creates a seal. These ear plugs will fit nominal ear canal diameters of 6-11mm
- Moistening the ear tip may ease insertion
Removal
- Gradually break the seal and avoid discomfort by removing the ear plugs using a slow, twisting motion
- Once removed, place the ear plugs in a clean protective case
Cleaning
- Clean after each wear using a damp cloth to wipe them clean
- After removing from the ear tip from the stem, clean the flanges with warm water and mild soap
- Dry the ear tip completely before reattaching it to the ear plug
- Do not immerse ear plugs in water
- Do not clean with harsh chemicals
- Alcohol is not recommended to be used when cleaning
Storage
- Always store the ETY|Plugs high fidelity reusable ear plugs in a clean protective case
- Do not store other objects in the ear plug case, except neck cord
Warnings
- These earplugs provide the perfect fit for ear canals that are smaller than average
- These ear plugs comply with EN-352-2 standard of measurement
- The triple-flange ear tip must be fitted, adjusted and maintained properly
- The ear tip should always create a seal to achieve the expected attenuation and hearing protection
- Use ear plugs continuously when noise levels are potentially harmful
- Regularly inspect the ear plugs to ensure they’re safe to use
- Never remove the end cap while the ear plugs are in use
- Failure to follow above warnings may severely reduce the level of hearing protection provided by the ear plugs
- If a cord is used take precautions that it does not catch on a nearby object
- This product may not be adversely affected by certain chemical substances
